Adeje / Costa Adeje
Adeje is a municipality in the south-west of Tenerife. The town itself sits up the hillside, while Costa Adeje lies on the shore — a resort strip that together with neighbouring Los Cristianos forms the island's main tourist hub.
The south of Tenerife is different weather, not the same island. There are eighteen rainy days a year here and sixty per cent humidity in winter, against fifty-five days and seventy-two per cent in Puerto de la Cruz in the north. Two hours of driving between them. The winter season rests on that dryness: from November to February the municipality is full, and in May and June it is noticeably quieter. The square metre here is the dearest on the island. The hospital is 10 minutes away and the airport 15.
