Sada is a coastal municipality on the Betanzos inlet, twenty kilometres from A Coruña. It belongs to the provincial capital's urban area and lives on fishing and holidays. The Casa dos Galegos, an early twentieth-century modernist pavilion, stands on its seafront.
For anyone moving, Sada is a suburb of A Coruña with the sea attached: twenty minutes to the city, and plenty of people live here and work there. Housing costs less than in the capital itself. In summer the town fills up — people come for weekends and holidays — but it does not empty in winter, because it rests on permanent residents. The climate is Galician: rain all year, a sea cold even in August, green and without heat.

3The main queue is in Santiago. After a fire at its police station in February 2026 people waited up to eight weeks for a fingerprint appointment, and the Galician immigration lawyers association calls the backlog permanent rather than temporary. Since 17 June 2026 the provincial authorities book the appointment for you, but only if the permit was granted inside Spain. Anyone who arrived on a visa still has to catch a slot themselves. Little is known about A Coruña city and Ferrol, so treat this as a rough estimate.
