February is the month when the island holds winterers rather than holidaymakers, which makes it a good guide to life out of season. Two things are worth checking. Distances first: the island is large and drawn out, and from Pájara the hospital is 39 minutes away against 3 from the capital. Dryness second: 10 to 18 rainy days a year — no island in our base is drier. Dry is not only about comfort — the island's water comes from desalination, and the bill differs from the mainland's.
