February on Fuerteventura is 19 °C by day, sea at 18.7 °C. The water goes no lower in February, March or April — and even that low is above the June peak on the north coast of Spain.
February is the month when the island holds winterers rather than holidaymakers, which makes it a good guide to life out of season. Two things are worth checking. Distances first: the island is large and drawn out, and from Pájara the hospital is 55 minutes away against ten from the capital. Dryness second: ten to eighteen rainy days a year — no island in our base is drier. Dry is not only about comfort — the island's water comes from desalination, and the bill differs from the mainland's.
