Late July brings the fireworks competition in Blanes — four evenings in a row, with the shore full. It is an old town festival rather than a show for visitors, though it draws people from the whole coast. July is useful for one thing: it shows the peak load on roads, car parks and doctors. The hospital in Blanes is 12 minutes away, in Lloret 15, in Girona 10.
