June is the best month for the city's defining feature. After the flood of 1957 the river Turia was diverted around the city. The empty bed became a park nine kilometres long: it runs through the whole centre, and people cycle it from the old town to the sea. The beach is 4.3 km from the centre, and in summer people go after work. Living without a car scores 5 out of 5.
