The metro runs from the centre to the sea, past Portugalete and Getxo, and between them hangs an iron bridge from 1893 that still ferries people and cars in a suspended gondola. The beaches start there. For anyone moving that means something simple: live in the city, reach the sea in half an hour, and do it without a car.
